BARRAGE is coming to Woodbridge High School
MONDAY, JANUARY 23, 2012 @ 7:00 PM
Barrage is a high-energy fiddle fest, weaving together extraordinary musicianship and dance with traces of everything from country to heavy metal music. Five violinists are backed up with wild and interesting percussions, strong vocals, guitar, bagpipes and expertly executed choreography. The result is a show that blows the doors off “Stomp” and “Riverdance” alike. The Woodbridge Senior High School Orchestra will be performing with Barrage as part of the Barrage Education Outreach program. It provides a rare opportunity for string students and the general public to see and interact with Barrage in a unique and intimate environment.
Cost: $10 for students/teachers/seniors and $15 for adults
To purchase, contact WHS Orchestra Teacher Taryn Wood at woodte@pwcs.edu
Sponsored by the WSHS Orchestra Boosters.

CFPA Points
Our online system for accepting CFPA Participation Points is now up and running!  While there are some things we are still working on, the system is a 'GO' for submitting points.  We are still working on adding in all of the existing points (remember, there are hundreds and hundreds of points to put in...it will take some time).  In the meantime, if you want to know your CFPA points totals, simply send an email to:  rethmeca@pwcs.edu I will be happy to provide that info for you.

We will no longer accept paper unless you have a technology release form on file with the CFPA office.

P.S.  Remember, your points will not be added to your file until/unless you have returned a signed Intent Agreement that was provided to all CFPA students in September.  If you are in need of another copy of this form, please ask your concentration teacher or visit the CFPA office on any ODD day.

Vocal Inspiration....of the comical kind!

Making choices - sometimes its not easy!
In a perfect world, we would never have to make choices....our schedules would be uncluttered and worry free.  Unfortunately, the real world doesn't operate that way, and we are faced with choices every day....some are easy, many are not.

As a CFPA vocal student, you are going to encounter some scheduling conflicts for which you will be required to make a choice.  Although your teachers work deligently to avoid them, sometimes they simply cannot be helped.  This is a reminder that CFPA vocal students should seek assistance whenever you are faced with a conflict....as soon as you recognize that you have one!!!  Often the teachers, along with the student and the parents, can work in unison to present the best solution for resolving a scheduling conflict.  However, sometimes they can't be worked out and a choice must be made.

Because you have chosen CFPA vocal music as your primary choice of concentration, you will be expected - during those rare conflicts - to put CFPA events ahead of others.   That is what makes  you and your participation in this program special.  Your commitment is paramount to your success.  If you choose to not make CFPA your priority, then we will need to re-evaluate your participation in the program.  As always, please see Ms. Rethmel immediately for assistance in resolving conflicts.
